High Cruelty!

A Morogoro resident, Mtonga Omari (seated bottom right) and his wife, Mariam Said (seated bottom left), who are foster parents to a four-year-old baby girl, Nasra Rashid, at the Social Welfare Office where the couple were summoned for allegedly mistreating the child whom they had confined in a box for two years. According to sources, Mariam had volunteered to take care of the child after her sister, who is the child’s mother, died. Centre is the child’s father, Rashid Mtonga. (Photos by John Nditi)
