AFRICAN LEADERSHIP FORUM BIGINS IN DAR ES SALAAM, FIVE FORMER AFRICAN HEADS OF STATE HAD ATTENDED

A two-day African Leadership Forum has started in Dar es Salaam, Thursday July 28, 2016, brings together former Heads of State as well as leaders from business, government, civil society and academia from across Africa.
Building on the success of the inaugural dialogue in 2014  and the second dialogue in 2015, the African Leadership Forum 2016 is focusing on the theme of: “Enabling African business to tranform the continent,” with the overarching objective of the dialogue to draw out the obstacles preventing African businesses from flourishing, and identify what needs to be done about them.
This is the third in a series of annual dialogues regarding the pressing strategic issues facing the continent, and how we as Africans can contribute in our individual and collective capacities to lead and support Africa’s sustainable development.
Five former African Heads of State will be in attendance, including H.E. Joaquim Chissano of Mozambique,  H.E. Thabo Mbeki of South Africa, H.E. Hifikepunye Pohamba of Namibia and H.E. Armando Guebuza of Mozambique.
The African Leadership Forum is an initiative of H.E. Benjamin W. Mkapa, former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, and is organised in collaboration with UONGOZI Institute under the leadership of Professor Joseph Semboja.
